On May 1, the amendment of the Temporary bridging measure for self-employed professionals (Tozo) has been published. Our earlier article about the Tozo can be found here.
The Tozo consists of:
- Income support, depending on the income and your household situation this can amount to a maximum of €1,500 (net); and/or
- A loan for business capital to a maximum amount of €10,157. This loan does have to be repaid, but it is possible to request a delay of your payment obligation.
In accordance with earlier statements, the amendment for cross-border self-employed persons relates to the following extensions:
- self-employed persons legally residing in the Netherlands whose own business or independent profession is established in an EU/EEA country or in Switzerland may be eligible for income support;
- self-employed persons legally residing in an EU/EEA country or in Switzerland, who have their own business or independent profession in the Netherlands may be eligible for the loan for business capital;
- self-employed persons who have reached retirement age may be eligible for the loan for business capital.
Please note that the other requirements under the Tozo-measure should still be fulfilled.
In general, Tozo can be applied for in the municipality where you live. For cross-border situations the municipality of Maastricht will handle the application for the loan for business capital.
Update: The portal for applications for the loan for business/working capital is open. Please find the portal of the municipality of Maastricht here.
